These tongs help you set wedge rivets into chainmail rings.
Yes, wedge rivets require more precision to set – yet the firm and historically accurate result is well worth it. Hence we conspired with our customers to design a tong that makes the rivet setting as smooth and easy as possible. And here it is: No more wobbling, no more slipping. Just riveting chainmail fun!
How does it work? The tongs have a deep hole and a dent. The deep hole is for pushing the rivet through the ring. The dent is for crushing the protruding tip of the rivet.
This works fine for all wedge-shaped rivets on rings from 6mm to 8mm. The riveting tongs are handmade and tested by somebody who works with chainmail. Get yourself a good tool for good work!
The photos show it with the dark blacksmithing surface. The current batch however comes in a polished, bright finish.
It’s also helpful to get pliers for holding rings. So you have it easier to grab the wedge rivets. You may also need loose wedge riveted rings and sheets of wedge riveted rings.
